Join the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), the leading organization of professionals committed to preventing and curing liver disease.  We are seeking a Director of Clinical Practice and Resources to lead the strategy and operational execution of clinical initiatives that support evidence-based practice and improve patient outcomes.  This position is remote with occasional travel required.  While exceptional candidates will be considered from most of the contiguous United States, preference will be given to applicants located in CT, DC, FL, IL, MD, MI, NC, NJ, OH, VA, and WI.

As the Director of Clinical Practice and Resources, you will develop and advance a clinical practice resources strategy and provide the strategic and operational oversight of a portfolio of programs that translate scientific evidence into practical tools for clinicians.  You will lead the development of practice resources such as quality measures, decision-support tools, consensus and endpoint documents, care pathways, and implementation tools.  Additionally, you will oversee staff responsible for managing clinical practice guideline workflows and collaborate closely with clinical leaders, committees, and cross-functional teams to ensure timely, high-quality delivery of clinical resources aligned with organizational priorities.  This role is fundamentally a clinical translation position: the person who fills it must be familiar with clinical evidence and understand how it applies in real care settings.

You offer:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; advanced degree in a medical, clinical, or scientific discipline (e.g., RN, PA, NP, or equivalent) preferred
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in clinical practice, clinical program development, healthcare quality, or medical education
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex clinical initiatives or programs
  • Clinical background is required; candidates must demonstrate substantive experience in a clinical practice environment, whether through clinical training and licensure (RN, NP, PA, or equivalent), scientific or laboratory research experience, or a career that has included direct work in hospital systems, specialty practice, or clinical care coordination
  • Proven leadership experience managing staff and cross-functional teams
  • Experience translating clinical evidence into practical tools and programs
  • Experience working alongside volunteer leaders within a medical specialty society or comparable clinical governance environment

This role is central to cultivating strong connections among members, volunteer leaders, patients, and staff while advancing initiatives that enrich the overall member experience.

The Senior Manager will serve as a key partner in building high-performing volunteer communities, supporting committee operations, and implementing engagement strategies that align with AASLD’s mission and strategic priorities. This position will work closely with volunteer leaders and internal stakeholders to ensure committees, Special Interest Groups (SIGs), and member communities have the resources, guidance, and support needed to succeed.
