$1.6 million in Funding Raised for 2010 Awards
For generations, AASLD has been a catalyst for the investigation and treatment of liver diseases. Research, advancing human health, and developing the next generation of hepatologists, liver transplant surgeons, and allied health professionals are among AASLD's highest priorities.
By now you have heard of the success of the recent New Challenges - New Solutions campaign. Over $6 million was raised to support career development awards, advanced/transplant hepatology fellowships, and single topic conferences. Because of the generosity of those who support the future of liver research, AASLD was able to fund 14 awards this year - for a total of $1.6 million! This is an increase of three awards (one Liver Scholar, one NP/PA Fellowship, and one AASLD/LIFER award) from 2009.

Although the campaign has ended, AASLD still needs your support to continue funding awards, fellowships and programs that advance the research and treatment of liver and biliary tract diseases. The Liver Research Fund has been established as the annual giving program that will provide immediate support for AASLD's educational grants, research awards, and fellowships.
