AASLD Leadership Election Results

We wish to thank all members who participated in the 2009 election of new members to the Governing Board and are pleased to announce that the results were affirmed at the Annual Business Meeting on October 31, 2009.

Councilor
Adrian M. Di Bisceglie, MD, FACP, St. Louis University School of Medicine, was elected for a three-year term as Councilor beginning January 1, 2010, followed by three additional years as President-Elect (2013), President (2014), and Past President (2015).

Secretary
Jorge A. Bezerra, MD, Children's Hospital Medical Center, Cincinnati, was        elected for a three-year term as Secretary beginning January 1, 2010 to December 31, 2012.

Councilor-at-Large
We are pleased to announce the election of Ginny L. Bumgardner, MD, PhD, Ohio State University Medical Center as Councilor-at-Large, by the membership for a three-year term beginning January 1, 2010 – December 31, 2012.

2010 Nominating Committee
We are also pleased to announce the election of three members for the 2010 Nominating Committee by the membership as follows:
• Elizabeth M. Brunt, MD, Washington University School of Medicine
• Raymond T. Chung, MD, Massachusetts General Hospital
• Keith D. Lindor, MD, Mayo Clinic, Rochester

The 2010 Nominating Committee also includes the following members appointed by the President and President-Elect:
• David E. Cohen, MD, PhD, Brigham & Women's Hospital
• Jorge A. Marrero, MD, University of Michigan
• James E. Everhart, MD, MPH, National Institute of Diabetes, Digestive and Kidney Diseases
• David R. Nelson, MD, University of Florida

Scott L. Friedman, MD, as immediate Past-President, will chair the Nominating Committee.
