Award Description:
The AASLD Advanced/Transplant Hepatology Fellowship Program provides salary and benefit support for GI fellows pursuing an additional, full-year of training focused on patient care in advanced/transplant hepatology. The intent of the program is to prepare the trainee to be eligible for certification in transplant hepatology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP).

Support from Roche Molecular Diagnostic for one fellow, Schering-Plough for three fellows, and Vertex Pharmaceuticals for two fellows is gratefully acknowledged. In addition, AASLD is supporting two fellows from its own operating funds.
