- Increase the number of mid-level practitioners in clinical hepatology.

- Increase access for liver disease patients to adequately trained clinicians.
The recipients of the 2009 AASLD NP/PA Clinical Hepatology Fellowship program are:

Upon receiving his certification as an ARNP, he then sought out a position at the University of Florida in the division of gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition, section of hepatobiliary diseases. During his fellowship year, Mr. Horne will be focusing on development in the core competencies of advanced hepatology practice with a particular focus on patients with HCC.
