AASLD’s membership year runs through July 1 – June 30. Annual dues for membership cover the cost of membership for one fiscal year cycle and may be prorated (depending on the membership category), based on when a member joins. Membership services and benefits begin upon acceptance into the association and when dues payment has been processed. Membership dues are renewed on fiscal year (July 1- June 30) timeline. Any fees that may incurred by the member when processing payments (e.g., credit card processing/bank fees, interest; etc.) are the sole responsibility of the member.

Membership Billing, Fees, Autorenewal and Pre-Payment

Like many associations, AASLD may offer and utilize autorenewal at our discretion, with a member’s authorization, to avoid disruption of a member’s services and benefits. Auto renewed memberships are purchased for a 12-month term.

Members may pre-pay for future years of membership (up to 36 months or three years in advance). AASLD does not accept membership dues payments for more than three years in advance.

Membership dues and fees are non-refundable and must be paid in U.S. currency. Members have the option to pay dues in one annual payment.

Annual membership payments can be paid through credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover), check or wire/ACH. Gift cards are not an acceptable form of payment. Credit card payments are highly encouraged to expedite membership activation.

International Transactions

Individuals with credit cards issued outside the United States or Canada interested in joining AASLD or renewing membership should first verify with the credit card issuer or bank if there are transaction limits on purchases of international goods. This step will ensure that the membership fee is not inadvertently declined since fraud protections are in place to prevent the use of credit cards for online transactions outside of the country of issuance. Individuals will want to pre-clear the transaction with the bank prior to purchasing or renewing membership.

Refund and Cancellation Policy

AASLD’s membership dues are non-refundable. We can't imagine that you'd want to cancel your membership, but any member who would like to cancel after completing their one-year term of membership, should submit a request in writing to aasld@aasld.org.

Tax Information

Membership dues paid to AASLD are not deductible as a charitable contribution for income tax purposes but may be deductible in part as a business expense. AASLD encourages all members to consult a tax professional regarding tax deductions and professional/membership fees.

Privacy and Information

AASLD does not rent or sell our members’ email addresses. Unless a member has opted out of receiving mail from us, we reserve the right to share relevant contact information with educational institutions, nonprofits, industry partners, and other organizations for marketing purposes that we believe offer a beneficial service or product to our membership. Opting out of email and/or mail will not preclude you from receiving transactional and/or operational messages (e.g., membership dues renewal reminders, invoices, account update information; etc.) related to your AASLD membership.
