Has the deadline for abstract submissions been extended?
Yes, the deadline has been extended to Friday, July 17, 2020.

Has the deadline for late-breaking submissions been extended?
The late-breaking submission period remains September 9-16, 2020.

Will my accepted abstract still be published?
Accepted regular submission abstracts will still be published online, on October 1, 2020. Physical Abstract Supplement books will be mailed to subscribers late.

When will I know if my abstract has been accepted?
Abstract notifications for all acceptances and rejections will be sent Monday, August 31, 2020.

When will guidelines, templates, and information for ePosters be available?
ePoster guidelines, templates, and information will be made available to accepted poster presentations at the time of abstract notification (August 31, 2020).

Can change my submission category?
All abstracts can be modified until the deadline. Changes to abstracts can be made through the gateway portal using the username and password that was used for submission. This portal can also be accessed by clicking on the link in the confirmation email.

Can I withdraw my abstract from consideration?
All withdrawal requests MUST be submitted in writing by the presentation or contact author to education@aasld.org.

Will the administrative application fee for Affiliate Events be refunded?
Yes. The administrative application fee will be refunded for Affiliate Event Applications that have already been submitted for The Liver Meeting®. AASLD will automatically process refunds, however, it may take up to six months for refunds to be processed.

How do I cancel events at the hotel?
Anyone with a signed agreement with a hotel, or other facility, for a planned function should contact the facility directly to cancel planned activities.

Will I still receive my travel award?
We will continue to recognize outstanding abstracts submitted by early career researchers through the AASLD Foundation’s Abstract Award program. In lieu of travel funds for this year’s meeting, award recipients will receive a $500 monetary prize and complimentary registration to The Liver Meeting Digital Experience™.

Will sponsorship and corporate support opprtunities be available for The Liver Meeting Digital Experience™?
Yes, AASLD is currently developing innovative digital opportunities to market products and services to the hepatology community.

These new opportunities will be showcased in a series of webinars hosted by AASLD this summer, where staff will be available to answer questions. A digital ratecard is also anticipated for a summer release. Please contact Sharon Grant for additional information.

What if I have first right of refusal from The Liver Meeting® 2019? Can I extend that to future years when the meeting is live again?
AASLD will be presenting a preview session for those who hold first right of refusal. AASLD is extending first right of refusal for The Liver Meeting® 2021.

Who should I contact for information regarding Emerging Liver Scholar [ELS] and Ambassador programs?

Will there be a virtual exhibit hall?
The Liver Meeting Digital Experience™ will offer a virtual exhibit hall. Heather Cooney and Sharon Grant will contact exhibitors to review virtual booth opportunities.

Will I earn priority points for The Liver Meeting® 2020?
Yes, if a booth(s) was purchased and full payment received for The Liver Meeting® 2020 by June 1, 2020, then Priority Points will be granted based on the square footage of the booth(s) purchased.

How will I select my booth for The Liver Meeting® 2021?
Heather Cooney will contact exhibitors in the fall to select booths for The Liver Meeting® 2021.

I am currently scheduled to exhibit at the Annual Meeting. What do I need to do?
Exhibitors who have paid for The Liver Meeting® 2020 have the option to carry over payments to The Liver Meeting® 2021 or receive a full refund. Exhibitors who choose to transfer payments to The Liver Meeting® 2021 will receive the benefits below as a thank you for showing loyal partnership to AASLD:

  • Lock-in The Liver Meeting® 2020 exhibit booth pricing
  • Earn Priority Points for 2020 (based on exhibit booth square footage purchased as of June 1, 2020)
  • Receive an additional 25 Priority Points on top of those earned for exhibit space
  • Enjoy one complimentary attendee mailing list for The Liver Meeting® 2021

All Priority Points earned by transferring payment to 2021 will be used for 2021 booth selection. If Priority Points are carried over and the booth is cancelled, or a decision is made not to exhibit in 2021, the above benefits will no longer apply.

Those who wish to receive a refund must submit cancellation in writing to exhibits@aasld.org. Please contact exhibits@aasld.org for further information.

Note: Fees for cancellations prior to June 1, 2020 for non-COVID-19 related cancellations will not be refunded.

Individuals: What happens to my hotel reservation?

onPeak Reservations
Any reservations made through The Liver Meeting’s housing authority, onPeak, will be automatically cancelled and any deposits will be refunded. onPeak will send an email from do-not-reply@email.onpeak.com.

Hotel Direct Reservations
Registrants who booked housing through other sources or directly with hotels must make changes or cancel their own reservations directly through original booking source.

Groups [25-99]: If The Liver Meeting® is cancelled, what happens to my group's hotel reservation?

Will eligibility for media to register change?

Will there be a press conference?
Yes, AASLD will hold a press conference at The Liver Meeting Digital Experience™.

Are there any restriction on what sessions media can attend?
Complimentary registration includes access to the general sessions, Postgraduate Course and Basic Science Symposium.

Is my AASLD membership current?

How do I join AASLD?
To join AASLD you will need to create an AASLD profile and complete the membership application. Create your profile or contact AASLD's Membership Team with any questions.

Can I get a discount on registration after I’ve registered and then pay my dues?
Membership with AASLD must be current at the time of registration to receive the member rates. AASLD will not reimburse the difference between the member and nonmember registration rates to any registrant whose membership was not current prior to the processing of their registration or whose completed membership application was approved after they registered.

Will Product Theaters be available in the digital platform?
Yes, The Liver Meeting Digital Experience™ will have Product Theaters. A rate card and additional information will be made available this summer. Please contact exhibits@aasld.org for more information.

When will The Liver Meeting Digital Experience™ registration (TLMdX®) open?
Individual registration will open for The Liver Meeting Digital Experience™ on August 12, 2020. If you are an individual interested in registering for the meeting, visit the TLMdX® website to get started!

What does registration for TLMdX® include?
The Liver Meeting Digital Experience™ will provide a forum for the exchange of groundbreaking basic, translational, and clinical research in diseases of the liver and biliary tract, and in liver transplantation. This digital experience will create an arena for the presentation and interchange of opinions on state-of-the-art care and management of the full spectrum of patients with liver disease.

What is the TLMdX® cancellation policy?
Refunds will be processed at the conclusion of The Liver Meeting Digital Experience™ (TLMdX®).

A written cancellation and refund request is required for all cancellations and should be sent to aasld@xpressreg.net. Requests received on or before November 12 will be subject to a 25% administrative fee. Cancellations received on or after November 13, 2020 will not be refunded.

Will AASLD offer Digital Satellite Symposia?
The Liver Meeting Digital Experience™ will have Digital Satellite Symposia. Please contact Heather Cooney for more information.

What are the days and times available for Digital Satellite Symposia?
The Digital Satellite Symposia will take place on Friday, November 13, Saturday, November 14 and Sunday, November 15 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm ET after scheduled educational events.

When is the deadline to submit an application for Digital Satellite Symposia?
Applications have been extended to Friday, July 31, 2020. Send completed applications to Heather Cooney.

Should I still prepare for my session or presentation?
The Liver Meeting® is transitioning to an online experience, and all invited presenters will be asked to prepare a presentation. Presenters will receive additional information on next steps over the summer.

Do all of the presenters in a live session need to agree to participate live for the session to be held? Can we pre-record in advance?
All presenters who are invited to participate in a live session will need to prepare for a live presentation. Presenters will receive additional information on next steps over the summer.

Will there be a presentation template provided to us by AASLD?
All presenters will be provided with an official AASLD PowerPoint presentation template that may be used for presentations.

Can I get a refund on flights?
AASLD is not liable for refunds on travel. Attendees should check their individual airlines for specific cancellation / refund policies. AASLD will not be responsible for any airline cancellation or change fees.
