This session will cover principles of imaging characteristics of benign and malignant hepatic lesions. Attendees will also receive an overview of the Liver Imaging Reporting and Data System (LI-RADs) for imaging findings in liver lesions and common biomarkers associated with hepatocellular carcinoma.

Barbara Andrews, MSN, FNP-C

Barbara Andrews, MSN, FNP-BC graduated with her masters of science in nursing from University of San Diego in 1997. She is a practicing Nurse Practitioner at the University of San Diego Medical Systems for the past 21 years.

She has specialized in hepatology for the past 12 years. Barbara is an active member of the AASLD Hepatology Associates Special Interest Group.



Moderator Bio

Lisa Richards, FNP-BC, MSN

Lisa Richards, FNP-BC, MSN is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner with the University of California Medical Center, San Diego. She received her bachelor and master’s of science degree in nursing, magna cum laude, from the University of San Diego. She practices in hepatology and has over 15 years of experience.

She is a member of the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease and has served on many committees and is currently co-chair of the Hepatology Associate Special Interest Group. Additionally, she is chair of the local American Liver Foundation Associate Medical Advisory Committee. She is very active in the field of hepatology and is an international and national speaker.
