Membership Categories
Annual Dues: $375.00
Journals: HEPATOLOGY and Liver Transplantation are included
Any scientist or physician or allied health professional as defined by the Governing Board, working in the United States, Canada or Mexico. Regular members shall have all the rights and privileges of membership, including the right to vote, hold office, and serve on Committees of AASLD.
Annual Dues: $375.00
Journals: HEPATOLOGY and Liver Transplantation are included
Persons otherwise qualified for regular membership, but residing in countries outside the United States, Canada, or Mexico. International members shall have all the rights and privileges of Regular membership, except the right to vote, hold office, and serve as committee chair.
Annual Dues: $700.00
Journals: HEPATOLOGY $100/year, Liver Transplantation $65/year — Discounted rates
Non-medically trained individuals in the health care industry. A statement of their affiliation within the field will be required with application for membership. Corporate Affiliate membership carries all the membership privileges, except the right to vote, hold office, and committee service.

Journals: HEPATOLOGY $100/year, Liver Transplantation $65/year — Discounted rates
Allied health professionals (for example nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists) who do not desire to become a Regular, International, or Trainee member, but who otherwise meet the criteria for Regular, International, or Trainee membership. Associate membership carries all the membership privileges, except the right to vote, hold office, and serving as committee chairs (except for any committee comprised of Associate members).
Annual Dues: $25.00
Journals: Access to HEPATOLOGY and Liver Transplantation is included
Any physician, scientist, or researcher currently in training, as certified by the director of their training program. The membership would be for the duration of their training. Trainees shall have all the rights of Regular membership except the right to vote, hold office or serve as a committee chair.
Annual Dues: $25.00
Journals: Access to HEPATOLOGY and Liver Transplantation is included
Any medical, nurse or pharmacy student currently in training, as certified by the director of their training program. The membership would be for the duration of their training. Students shall have all the rights of Trainee membership.

Emeritus membership is open to any Regular or International member. Emeritus members shall have all rights accorded Regular or International members.
An Emeritus Member must:
- Be 65 years old;
- Have retired from full-time employment; and
- Have a minimum of 10 consecutive years of membership in good standing immediately preceding the request

Honorary Membership

Journals: Discounted rates — HEPATOLOGY $100/year, Liver Transplantation $65/year
Honorary membership is bestowed upon individuals who have made substantial contributions to the field of hepatology but do not meet the criteria for AASLD membership. Honorary membership is considered for individuals who are publicly recognized as providing ongoing support of the field of hepatology or the Association. Honorary membership carries all membership privileges except for voting and holding office. Dues are not required.
The Fellow of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (FAASLD) designation — the highest honor among AASLD membership categories — recognizes superior professional achievement in clinical or academic practice, and in basic or clinical research and is awarded to members who have made a significant contribution to the knowledge and/or practice of liver and biliary disease, and who are considered leaders in the field.
The Associate Fellow of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AF-AASLD) – the highest distinction among the Associate member category by AASLD – recognizes distinguished professional achievement of advanced training, education and commitment to the highest level of hepatology care in clinical, research or academic practice.
