The web-based AASLD Call for Nominations for the Governing Board, Foundation Board Trustee, Nominating Committee, Standing Committees and Distinguished Awards runs through January 15, 2020. We welcome you to nominate your colleagues and/or apply for yourself.

Nominations are as easy as 1-2-3

  1. View and download the 87 open Standing Committee positions in 2021 [PPT] and submit a nomination for yourself or for a colleague.
  2. Log in to your AASLD member profile to submit your nominations
  3. Choose from the three modules – leadership, committees and Distinguished Awards – to begin your nomination process

Nominations are requested for two Governing Board positions (Councilor and Councilor-at-Large), one Foundation Board Trustee and the Nominating Committee for terms beginning in 2021.

Governing Board

Nominees for the Governing Board should demonstrate:

  • Accomplishments in the study or care of patients with liver diseases, and in the fields of clinical, basic or health services research.
  • Evidence of commitment to AASLD activities such as presentations at meetings of the Association and service on AASLD committees.
  • Evidence of organizational and leadership roles in academic hepatology, including familiarity and expertise in areas of training and workforce related issues.
  • Ability to build consensus around contentious issues.

Foundation Board Trustee

Nominees for the Foundation Board should demonstrate:

  • Responsibility for the fundraising, management, and oversight of the organization’s activities.
  • Ability to act as a voting member of the AASLD Foundation Board with authority and responsibility to develop policies, procedures and regulations for the operation of the AASLD Foundation, and monitor the AASLD Foundation's financial health, programs and overall performance.
  • A strong commitment to AASLD and to its vision for the future.

Nominating Committee

Nominees for the Nominating Committee should demonstrate:

  • Accomplishments in the study or care of patients with liver diseases, and in the fields of clinical, basic or health services research.
  • Evidence of commitment to AASLD activities such as presentations at meetings of the Association and service on AASLD committees.

The Nominating Committee will review submitted nominations in April of 2020 and make recommendations for elected and standing committee positions. The President-Elect will make the final appointments to standing committees with the approval of the Governing Board.
