As you know, inequalities continue to exist in both the research of Digestive and Liver diseases and the care of patients with those diseases. If you’re attending Digestive Disease Week® (DDW), you won’t want to miss the DDW Diversity Symposium. During this event, faculty and participants will discuss how the Digestive and Liver Disease communities can create a more diverse, equitable and inclusive environment that ultimately will improve the health of our communities and create a workplace where providers can thrive.
The symposium takes place in person Monday, May 23, 2022, from 4–5:30 p.m., in Room 23 of the San Diego Convention Center (SDCC). Participants will leave knowing how to:
- Recognize the benefits of creating a more equitable and inclusive environment for their colleagues and the Digestive Disease and Liver communities.
- Implement strategies, including workplace policies, that promote a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace.
- Implement useful tips for increasing the recruitment of diverse populations in GI and Liver Disease research.
This session will conclude with a panel discussion of engaging and timely topics focused on diversity. Come and join the conversation!
DDW® Diversity Reception
