The AASLD Foundation Board of Trustees manages the Foundation’s affairs by establishing and reviewing long-term Foundation objectives, determining the priority of all programs and activities, and administering policies to further its mission. The Board works with the AASLD Governing Board to establish financial goals, oversee operations, exercise control, management, investment and disbursement of funds raised to support its mission.
The Foundation’s research and career development awards and initiatives are led by the Research Awards Committee and the Development Committee. The Fundamentals of Liver Disease is also produced by a group of dedicated volunteers. The Foundation is grateful to these individuals for the investment of time and resources they commit to fostering new research and advanced training opportunities, and for leading the charge to secure support to carry out initiatives.

The Foundation Board of Trustees is composed of seven voting members; four (4) of the trustees are members of the AASLD Governing Board and the three (3) remaining are selected and appointed by the AASLD Governing Board from the AASLD nominations process. Some members of the Foundation Board of Trustees are invited to serve based upon their role as a leader of an AASLD Foundation committee.
