Susan Lou is a current 3rd year resident in Internal Medicine at the University of Minnesota and a 2017 Emerging Liver Scholar. She attended college at Stanford University with a degree in Human Biology and Health Disparities and medical school at the Oregon Health & Science University.
She has a passion for medical education and is also involved with the American College of Physicians National Council for Resident & Fellow Members. She looks forward to becoming a Chief Resident in Patient Safety and Quality Improvement at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center next year.
Ultimately, she hopes to be a gastroenterologist one day and eagerly anticipates the upcoming AASLD conference where she hopes to be an Ambassador for incoming Emerging Liver Scholars.
Her career aspiration is to serve as faculty at an academic center where she can contribute to advancements in her field. For fun, she enjoys swimming, Zumba, the outdoors, and silly animal videos.
