The majority of our trademark scientific programming will be delivered live in person and available on the TLMdX platform within 72 hours. However, some sessions will be live-streamed to the TLMdX platform for our digital audience. In Washington, you can:

Industry Colloquium - November 3
Perspectives and Advances in Liver Preservation
Start your learning early by joining us at the Walter E. Convention Center in Washington, DC on November 3. This conference will provide state-of-the-art insights on device development, organ assessment, preservation strategies and key issues around the use of preservation devices. In addition, the conference will provide the first technical and clinical framework for several perfusion devices and examine the different strategies for successful perfusion/preservation of donor livers.

- Understands the risks and benefits of cold and warm perfusion.
- Understand the technical and clinical perspectives of different perfusion approaches.
AASLD is taking steps to ensure the health and safety of all stakeholders participating in The Liver Meeting®. The AASLD Governing Board has approved a “Vaccination Required” policy for all TLM® attendees, exhibitors and AASLD staff. TLM will be happening in a public space and AASLD cannot guarantee that participants will not encounter members of the public who have not been fully vaccinated.
AASLD is monitoring the evolving public health guidance and AASLD will continue to update this page as new information becomes available. AASLD asks all stakeholders to follow all applicable regulations and make informed choices about their participation in The Liver Meeting® In-Person Program.
Health and Safety Onsite
- Increased spacing between chairs in session rooms

The AASLD Governing Board has approved a “Vaccination Required” policy for all TLM® attendees, exhibitors and AASLD staff. Attendees, exhibitors and staff must be fully vaccinated according to the guidelines approved by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which state:
People are considered fully vaccinated:
- 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or
- 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson's Janssen vaccine
If you do not meet these requirements, regardless of your age, you are NOT fully vaccinated. This guidance applies to COVID-19 vaccines currently authorized for emergency use by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration: Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson (J&J)/Janssen COVID-19 vaccines. This guidance can also be applied to COVID-19 vaccines that have been listed for emergency use by the World Health Organization (as of Aug. 17, 2021 that includes: AstraZeneca/Oxford, Serum Institute of India, Sinopharm (Beijing), Sinovac).
Attendees, exhibitors, and staff who cannot or choose not to meet these requirements are not considered fully vaccinated and will not be permitted to participate onsite in Washington, DC.
Everyone, regardless of vaccination status, is encouraged to participate in TLMdX, AASLD’s online conference platform which will deliver all educational sessions, by streaming in-person content onto the platform.

AASLD will comply with all local, state, and national requirements.
CDC currently states that for fully vaccinated individuals to wear a mask indoors in public if you are in an area of substantial or high transmission.

What does registration for The Liver Meeting® in Washington, DC, include?
The Liver Meeting registrants will have full access to the TLMdX platform, as well as the opportunity to participate in in-person networking events, receptions, and other physical conference offerings.
Why is AASLD insisting on full COVID-19 vaccination?
After careful consideration and consultation with internal and external health and safety experts, AASLD has determined that TLM can be the most robust, productive and interactive conference possible by requiring vaccinations for entry.
Are you requiring everyone to wear a mask?
AASLD is monitoring local, state, and federal health and safety guidelines and will continue to follow the CDC guidelines for all safety protocols onsite.
Is AALSD allowing people from outside the U.S. to participate in-person?
AASLD is requiring that all stakeholders who participate in-person be fully vaccinated as defined by the CDC.
What if I have a medical condition or religious reason for which it is not advisable for me to be vaccinated?
If an attendee cannot or chooses not to comply with the TLM onsite Health and Safety requirements, we encourage them to register for and participate with us through our Digital Experience. TLMdX will offer all educational sessions, opportunities to connect with exhibitors and unique engagement offerings all within a best-in-class digital environment
How is AASLD ensuring safety onsite?
AASLD is taking steps to protect the health and safety of all stakeholders participating in The Liver Meeting®. TLM will be happening in a public space and AASLD cannot guarantee that participants will not encounter members of the public who have not been fully vaccinated. AASLD encourages all attendees participating in person to review all posted guidance and guidelines regarding travel by the CDC, and if you are coming from outside the United States, please review guidance and guidelines from the World Health Organization or your country.
How are you verifying vaccination? Do I need to bring my card? Where is my information being stored?

What if I register for the liver meeting and then decide not to attend because COVID infection rates increase?

What if I register for the liver meeting and AASLD cancels the in-person component?
If AASLD cancels The Liver Meeting, registrants who have fully paid for the in-person component will be refunded those fees. Registration for TLMdX will remain intact unless separately canceled. Refunds will be processed at the conclusion of The Liver Meeting®. A written cancellation and refund request is required for all cancellations and should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
I'm traveling for The Liver Meeting® in Washington, dc, if I am unable to attend can I get a refund on flights?
AASLD is not liable for refunds on travel. Attendees should check their individual airlines for specific cancellation/refund policies. AASLD will not be responsible for any airline cancellation or change fees.
