Andres Cardenas, MD, MMSc, PhD, FAASLD
Biography
Dr. Cárdenas is a Staff Member and Consultant of the Institute of Digestive Diseases and Metabolism at Hospital Clinic and Accredited Professor of Medicine (Catalan Agency for Quality Assessment) with the University of Barcelona. He pursued his Residency and Fellowship in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, Hepatology at Boston University and Harvard Medical School at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. Dr. Cardenas is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology and Hepatology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. His main expertise and research interests are in liver transplantation, cirrhosis and its complications, interventional procedures in patients with cirrhosis and portal hypertension. He is the current co-Editor-in-Chief of Liver Transplantation.
