Biography

Dr. Ani Kardashian is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California. She is a transplant hepatologist who specializes in caring for patients with MASLD, cirrhosis, and patients who undergo liver transplantation. Her clinical and research interests are in the role of nutrition, diet quality, and social determinants of health, including food insecurity, on MASLD prevalence and outcomes. Her research has been published in numerous high-impact journals, including Hepatology, Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Clinical Infectious Diseases, Hepatology Communications, and Nature Reviews Gastroenterology & Hepatology. Dr. Kardashian received her BA from Stanford University and MD from the University of California, San Francisco. She completed Internal Medicine residency at the University of California, San Francisco before pursuing fellowships in Gastroenterology at University of California, Los Angeles and in Transplant Hepatology from the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Kardashian is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association, and American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases. She is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine, gastroenterology, and transplant hepatology.
