Becky Lowry, MD, FACP
Biography
Dr. Lowry completed her medical training at Kansas University Medical Center including medical school and combined residency in internal medicine and pediatrics. She completed a chief residency year for both her combined and categorical internal medicine programs. Dr. Lowry is a member of both Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) and Gold Humanism Honor Societies. She has served in numerous medical education, clinical, and health system leadership roles through her career including over 10 years each as an associate program director for the internal medicine residency program and as an elected member of the executive committee of the medical staff (ECMS). Dr. Lowry serves as the Chief Wellness Officer (CWO) for The University of Kansas Health System since 2022 and is responsible for leading the system strategy for professional well-being within the health system. She is also the Associate Chief Medical Officer for the Kansas City Division since 2025. In these roles, Dr. Lowry partnered with leaders to open the system's first Professional Well-Being Center (PWC). The PWC provides confidential, no cost counseling to colleagues by psychologists with experience treating health care professionals. In 2024, Dr. Lowry was recognized nationally in Becker's as a chief wellness officer to know and collaborated with other national leaders on the development of the American Hospital Association's (AHA) blueprint guide to building a systemic well-being program. Dr. Lowry's clinical practice is in ambulatory internal medicine with both a primary care practice and a focus on survivorship care for adults with a history of childhood, adolescent, or young adult cancer. She is the founding medical director of The University of Kansas Cancer Center Survivorship Transition Clinic that opened in 2014
