Bilal Hameed, MD, FAASLD
Biography
Dr. Bilal Hameed's is a Professor of Medicine at the University of California-San Francisco (UCSF). He is also the Ambulatory Chair of Hepatology at UCSF Medical Center and Director of Steatotic Liver Clinic. Dr. Hameed's research program is focused on several critical areas within hepatology, including metabolic dysfunctional-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) therapeutics, acute liver failure, portal hypertension and autoimmune liver diseases. Dr. Hameed's is a site-PI for the NIH-funded NASH-CRN study and co-PI for the NIH-funded Liver Cirrhosis Network (LCN). The many ongoing clinical trials for steatotic liver disease highlight Dr. Hameed's proactive approach to exploring new treatment modalities and therapeutic interventions. His work has resulted in many impactful, peer-reviewed publications.
