Biography

I am a Hepatologist and Senior Clinical and Research Consultant at the Liver Disease and Hepatitis Program at the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska., an auxiliary professor at University of Alaska Health Sciences Program and Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Washington. I have directed the vaccination programs in Alaska Natives that reduced the prevalence of hepatitis B from the highest in the US to the lowest in the world. He has been active in research in viral hepatitis A, B, and C, Hepatocellular Carcinoma, as well as other liver diseases among Alaska Natives/American Indians, for over 50 years.
