Biography

I graduated from medical school in 1996. After completing my specialization in Gastroenterology in 2005, I spent three years at the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Michigan, where I conducted research on antiviral resistance in hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection and liver transplantation and completed my Hepatology training. I was appointed Associate Professor in 2010 and promoted to Professor in 2017. I am currently working in the Department of Gastroenterology at Acıbadem University Faculty of Medicine. I also currently serve as the President of the Turkish Association for the Study of the Liver (TASL) and my current primary area of scientific interest include viral hepatitis, liver transplantation, and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
