Biography
Chris Burns is an Emmy Award-winning cinematographer, filmmaker, and founder of Ayumi Creative, where he has spent more than two decades creating cinematic stories for Netflix, HBO Max, A&E, Discovery, national brands, and nonprofit organizations. His work is rooted in authentic human storytelling and the power of visual media to inspire action.In 2023, Chris was diagnosed with end-stage liver disease and was told he had just 48 hours to live without emergency intervention. After achieving six months of sobriety, he became eligible for the transplant waiting list and soon received the life-saving liver transplant that gave him a second chance at life. Now, more than three and a half years sober, Chris has become a passionate advocate for liver health, organ donation, recovery, and patient empowerment. Through filmmaking, public speaking, and advocacy, he works to educate, inspire hope, and help others navigate the challenges of liver disease and transplantation.
