Coskun O Demirtas, MD, FESBGH

Dr. Coskun Ozer Demirtas is an Associate Professor of Medicine, the Director of the Gastroenterology Institute at Marmara University in Istanbul, Turkey and Adjunct Assistant Professor at Yale University, Section of Digestive Diseases. His research focuses on the early detection of hepatocellular carcinoma, as well as the factors influencing its development and prognosis, with particular emphasis on the impact of portal hypertension. He has authored over 70 publications in prestigious scientific journals and has received several awards and grants for his research. Dr. Demirtas is actively involved in the global gastroenterology and hepatology community, serving on committees of prominent organizations, including the UEG, ILCA and AASLD.
