Biography

Dr. Craig Lammert is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Indiana University and an adult hepatologist specializing in autoimmune liver diseases, with a particular focus on autoimmune hepatitis (AIH). His clinical and translational research program centers on advancing the understanding of AIH through studies involving genetics, biomarkers, autoantibodies, and high-dimensional proteomic platforms. He is an active clinical investigator dedicated to improving therapeutic development and clinical trial design in AIH. His work emphasizes developing meaningful clinical trial endpoints and fostering collaborative engagement with patients, regulatory agencies, and industry partners to advance a new generation of AIH therapies that reduce steroid burden, improve disease control, and enhance patient quality of life. In addition to his academic and clinical roles, Dr. Lammert is the Founder and CEO of the Autoimmune Hepatitis Association, a patient-centered nonprofit organization focused on education, research, advocacy, and support for individuals affected by autoimmune hepatitis. He currently serves as President of the Cholestatic and Autoimmune Liver Disease Special Interest Group for the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases.
