Cristina del Rio

Cristina del Río Cubilledo is a PhD student at the University of La Rioja, where her doctoral research focuses on the prevalence, diagnosis, and treatment of hepatitis C virus (HCV) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) among people with severe mental illness and substance use disorders. She is also a researcher at Álvaro Cunqueiro University Hospital, where she contributes to research focused on viral hepatitis and vulnerable populations.Cristina holds a BSc in Chemistry with Medical Studies from the University of Glasgow and an MSc in Biotechnology from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. In addition to her doctoral research, she works as a Research Assistant and Laboratory Manager at the Institute of Immunology and Infection Research (IIIR), University of Edinburgh.Her research interests include viral hepatitis, infectious diseases, screening and diagnosis, treatment of HCV, and improving access to care for vulnerable populations.
