Biography

Eduardo Yepez Guevara, MD, FACP, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Infectious Diseases, Infection Control and Employee Health at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He also serves as Fellowship Program Associate Director for the Infectious Diseases Fellowship and Associate Program Director for the Transplant and Oncology Infectious Diseases Fellowship. Dr. Yepez is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases and had additional training in Transplantation Infectious Diseases at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He is active nationally and internationally through the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, where he serves as Trainee Lead of the Hepatitis C Special Interest Group, as well as through the Infectious Diseases Society of America, the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, the American Society of Transplantation, and the International Immunocompromised Host Society. Dr. Yepez's clinical, academic, and research work focuses on viral hepatitis and infections in immunocompromised patients, particularly individuals with cancer, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, and other immune-modulating therapies. He is actively involved in medical education and antimicrobial stewardship. He has contributed to peer-reviewed research, educational initiatives and invited presentations on viral hepatitis in oncology and infectious complications in high-risk hosts.
