Biography

Dr Alonso is a Pediatric Hepatologist, a clinical and translational researcher and senior leader in health care administration at Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago. She has been the Medical Director of the Siragusa Transplant Center at Lurie since 2018. Her research portfolio has focused on long-term outcomes following pediatric liver transplantation and the mechanisms of liver injury in acute liver failure. She has led an array of federally funded research programs and networks and is currently the network principal investigator for the Pediatric Acute Liver Failure Immune Response Network (PALF-IRN) and the TReatment for ImmUne Mediated PathopHysiology (TRIUMPH) Trial.
