Fuchen Dong, PhD candidate

Fuchen Dong is a PhD candidate at the University of Groningen and University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG), the Netherlands. He holds a Master of Medicine from Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, where his research focused on acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF). His clinical research training in hepatology motivated his interest in understanding the mechanisms of liver disease and translating clinically relevant questions into experimental models. His current research focuses on liver fibrosis, extracellular matrix remodeling, and advanced human liver models, including decellularized liver scaffolds, precision-cut liver slices, and organoid-based systems.
