Description

This lecture will examine how modern spatial omics technologies are transforming liver research by enabling high-resolution mapping of the cellular and molecular architecture of healthy and diseased liver tissue. It will highlight recent advances in spatial transcriptomics, high-plex imaging, and multimodal profiling, with a focus on applications in primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC), liver fibrosis, cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma. The presentation will discuss how these approaches are uncovering spatially organized cell-cell interactions, tissue microenvironments, and disease mechanisms, while addressing current analytical challenges and future opportunities for biomarker discovery, precision hepatology, and therapeutic development.
