Helen Hyosun, MD

Biography

Hyosun Helen Han, MD is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at University of Southern California (USC). She has served as Medical Director of Living Donor Liver Transplantation Program for the past 9 years. Her newest role is Program Director of the Transplant Hepatology Fellowship Program. Dr. Han comes from the East Coast, training in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Transplant Hepatology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She graduated with a Bachelor in Arts degree in Biological Sciences from Columbia University of New York City and received her medical degree at University of Miami Leonard Miller School of Medicine. She has been an AASLD member for the past 10 years, and currently serves on the Surgery and Liver Transplantation Committee. She recently was selected as Fellow of American Society of Transplantation (FAST). Her areas of clinical and research interests are alcohol associated liver disease and living donor liver transplantation. She has numerous abstracts and peer reviewed articles on the topic of alcohol relapse prevention in patients with alcohol associated liver disease as well as living donor well-being and outcomes of living donor liver transplants.
