Idilman Ramazan

I graduated from Cukurova University Faculty of Medicine in 1992. I completed my residency in Internal Medicine at Ankara University School of Medicine in 1997, followed by a Gastroenterology Fellowship at the same university in 2000. Later, I served as a research fellow in Hepatology at the University of Kentucky Medical School (Lexington, KY-USA) and completed a clinical fellowship in Transplant Hepatology at Loyola University Medical Center (Maywood, IL, USA). I became an Associate Professor in Medicine in 2004 and a Professor of Medicine in 2009. I have been with the Ankara University School of Medicine, Department of Gastroenterology since 1992. Currenty, I serve as the chair of the Department of Gastroenterology and Director of the Hepatology Institute at Ankara University.My primary area of interest centers on hepatology and liver diseases, supported by work in both clinical practice and basic sciences. I am actively involved in translational research investigating the pathogenesis and treatment of various liver diseases, wit a particularly focus on viral etiology-induced, steatotic liver diseases, and HCC. Additionally, I manage liver transplant patients throughout the pre- and post-transplant continuum, and have a specialized interest in the hepatic complications observed in recipients of other solid organ or hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.I am a member of the Academy of Sciences (BA). Additionally, I hold memberships in several national and international societies, including AASLD, EASL, the Turkish Society of Gastroenterology and the Turkish Association for the Study of the Liver (TASL). I am currently serving as a Secretary-General of the Governing Board of the Turkish Association for the Study of the Liver (TASL), which is a national association of the EASL and also serve as Associate Editor of the Turkish Journal of Gastroenterology.
