Jaime Chu, MD, FAASLD

Dr. Jaime Chu is a Professor of Pediatrics and Medical Director of Pediatric Liver Transplantation at the Mount Sinai Kravis Children's Hospital and Mount Sinai's Recanati/Miller Transplantation Institute. Dr. Chu is a physician-scientist in pediatric hepatology. In addition to caring for children with liver disease and liver transplants, she leads a translational research group that focuses on how metabolism pathways regulate liver development and disease, including MASLD. Her research has been awarded the Gilead Sciences Research Scholars Liver Disease Award, AASLD Foundation Bridge Award, and K08 and R01 funding from the NIH/NIDDK. Dr. Chu's clinical research includes participation as site PI and co-Investigator in NIH-funded consortia and other Industry-sponsored pediatric drug trials for MASLD, genetic cholestatic liver disease, and biliary atresia. Dr. Chu is a strong advocate for trainees in the physician-scientist pipeline. She serves as the Director of the Pediatric Physician-Scientist Residency Program at Mount Sinai and an Associate Director of the MD/PhD (MSTP) Program at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Chu has been an active member of AASLD and looks forward to continued partnership with AASLD to advance our understanding of pediatric liver diseases towards the development of much needed therapeutic options and improved care for children with liver disease and liver transplantation.
