Biography

Lorrinda Gray-Davis is a liver transplant recipient, inoperable liver cancer survivor, and passionate advocate for organ transplant patients. She serves as Vice Chair of the Patient Affairs Committee for the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) and is the President of the Transplant Recipients International Organization (TRIO). At the federal level, she serves on HRSA's Technical Expert Panel for Organ Procurement Organization Safety and Quality Standards and its Allocation Out of Sequence Committee. A published author, her work appears in peer-reviewed journals including Hepatology Communications and the American Journal of Kidney Diseases, where her most recent editorial, "A Call for More Sensitive Patient-Centered Communication and Support After Canceled Transplant Surgeries," calls on transplant teams to rethink how they support patients when a surgery does not go forward. With her brother also being a recent liver recipient, Lorrinda's personal and professional experiences drive her work as a dedicated author, speaker, and patient advocate.
