Mark W. Russo, MD, MPH, FAASLD

Mark W Russo received his medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York and completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of North Carolina Hospitals. He completed a 3 year fellowship in gastroenterology and an additional year of fellowship training at the University of North Carolina. He earned a masters in public health at the University of North Carolina School of Public Health with expertise in epidemiology and clinical research. In 2006 he moved to Charlotte, Atrium Health, and is Chief of the Division of Hepatology and Medical Director of Liver Transplantation and was promoted to Professor of Medicine. He has served on several national committees for the AASLD, ACG, AGA and UNOS. He has served as co-director for the AASLD Transplant Hepatology Board Review course. He served as an Associate Editor for the American Journal of Gastroenterology and is associate editor for Gastroenterology. He has authored more than 150 articles and 11 book chapters.
