Matthew R D'Uva
Biography
Matthew D'Uva is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), the premier organization of health care professionals, researchers, and scientists committed to preventing and curing liver disease worldwide. Matthew also serves as CEO of AASLD Foundation, the philanthropic arm of AASLD committed to developing and supporting the hepatology workforce of the future. In his role, Matthew oversees the implementation of AASLD's strategic plan, management of the organization's operations, and a team of nearly 50 professionals.Prior to AASLD, Matthew served as the CEO of the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP), where he played an instrumental role in IASP's growth as the global leader in pain research, education, and practice, and previously served as President and CEO of the Society of Consumer Affairs Professionals (SOCAP) International.A graduate of Tufts University with a BA in international relations, Matthew also earned an MBA from the Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland. He has been named a Fellow of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and has earned the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation. Matthew is an active member of the association community, including service on the ASAE Board of Directors and ASAE Foundation Board of Directors. A native of Waterbury, CT, Matthew and his wife, Amy Neugebauer, reside in Bethesda, Maryland with their two children.
