Nirmala Mavila, PhD
Biography
Dr. Mavila is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, CA. Dr. Mavila's research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms of liver regeneration during chronic injuries and how dysregulation of these molecular events contributes to the development of liver fibrosis and cancer. We are particularly interested in investigating the cellular crosstalk that occurs during chronic liver injury and its role in the initiation and progression of liver disease.
