Biography
Petra Hirsova, PharmD, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Associate Consultant in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. She received doctoral training at Charles University (Czech Republic) and Yale University, and completed postdoctoral training at Mayo Clinic. Dr. Hirsova leads an NIH-funded research program focused on metabolic dysfunction–associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), with an emphasis on pathogenic immune mechanisms that drive disease progression and fibrosis and on translating these insights into druggable targets and novel therapies. Her laboratory integrates dietary and genetic mouse models with advanced immune profiling and single-cell/spatial approaches, alongside translational validation using patient samples.
