Biography

Dr. Prashant Bhangui holds a MS (Surgery), Masters in HPB Surgery and Liver Transplantation (Henri Bismuth Hepatobiliary Institute, France), and European Inter University Diploma in HPB Oncology. He is currently the Director of Liver Transplantation and Hepatobiliary Surgery at Medanta-The Medicity Hospital in Delhi NCR, India; a Center with one of the largest experience in LDLT worldwide (close to 5000 LDLT's). For his academic and clinical excellence in management of patients with HCC (and research in the subject), and contribution to the field of Organ Transplantation in India, he was awarded the prestigious K.N. Udupa Memorial Oration 2016 by the Indian Society Of Organ Transplantation (ISOT), and the Annual Oration of the Goa (India) Cancer Society 2026. He was also conferred the "Vanguard Award 2016" by the International Liver Transplant Society (ILTS) for the best published clinical research paper in top peer reviewed Journals during the entire calendar year 2016, and the 2023 REAL Advancing in Liver Transplantation Award by the ILTS for contribution in advancing education and training in Liver Transplantation worldwide. His clinical research interests include management of patients with liver metastases, the living donor, and advancing the field of Transplant Oncology.Dr. Prashant is currently an ILTS (International Liver Transplantation Society) Council Member (2023-27), the Affiliated Councillor to the Education and Scholarship Committee, and Transplant Oncology Special Interest Group, and Member, Publication Committee of the ILTS. He is also a Council Member at Large of ISLS (International Society Of Liver Surgeons), and has previously held several Leadership positions and membership of various National and International Societies like LTSI, ESOT, ELITA, AASLD, iLDLT Study Group, IASGO ISOT, Les Compagnons Hepatobiliaire.He is an Associate Editor for Transplantation, on the Reviewer Panel for several leading publications, and has more than 130 publications in high-index peer reviewed Journals pertaining to hepatobiliary surgery and liver transplantation, with a h-index of 35.
