Suna Yapali, MD
Biography
Dr. Yapali received her medical degree from Istanbul University, Cerrahpasa School of Medicine, English Curriculum. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Marmara University in 2008 and her Gastroenterology fellowship at Ege University, Division of Gastroenterology, in 2012. From 2012 to 2014, she pursued a Hepatology Research Fellowship at the University of Michigan, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, under the mentorship of Professor Anna Lok.Dr. Yapali is currently an Associate Professor at Acibadem Mehmet Ali Aydinlar University in Istanbul, Turkiye. Her clinical and research interests focus on the management of patients with liver diseases, including viral hepatitis, cirrhosis, steatotic liver disease, and hepatocellular carcinoma. She is a member of the EASL Hepatology Core Curriculum Committee, where she contributes to the development of the Hepatology Core Curriculum, and is also a member of the WGO Hepatology Committee. She is a member and past president of the TASL Viral Hepatitis Special Interest Group, where she has contributed to studies on viral hepatitis in Turkiye. Dr. Yapali also serves as the Secretary General of the TASL Governing Board.
