Biography

Dr Taneja has over 200 publications in national and international journals and extensive experience in clinical and translational hepatology. His research reflects significant contributions to the understanding and management of hepatic encephalopathy, advanced cirrhosis, and complications of cirrhosis, including frailty and sarcopenia. Dr. Taneja has made significant contributions to the field of hepatic encephalopathy, with research spanning minimal, overt, and recurrent hepatic encephalopathy. His work includes the validation of diagnostic tools such as the Inhibitory Control Test and Animal Naming Test, studies on neuroimaging and cerebral oedema, prognostic assessment using dynamic changes in hepatic encephalopathy and ammonia levels in acute-on-chronic liver failure, therapeutic interventions in hepatic encephalopathy, and interventional management of recurrent shunt-related hepatic encephalopathy. He has also contributed to systematic reviews on treatment strategies for minimal hepatic encephalopathy.
