Wesam Aleyadeh, MD

Wesam Aleyadeh is a clinical hepatology fellow at the National Institutes of Health. He began his training in hepatology under the mentorship of Dr. Jordan Feld at the Toronto Centre for Liver Disease, working with HCV D+/R– patients. His interest in advanced liver disease continued at the Cleveland Clinic, where he contributed clinically and in a research capacity to the Medical Intensive Liver Unit (MILU) registry. His research interests span viral hepatitis and the eradication of HCV, expanding access to transplantation, and the management of critically ill patients with liver disease. He is particularly focused on non-cirrhotic portal hypertension as well as acute and acute-on-chronic liver failure at the intersection of hepatology and critical care. He is the Lead Associate Investigator on NIH protocols studying non-cirrhotic portal hypertension and primary sclerosing cholangitis.
