Young Suk YS Lim, MD, PhD
Biography
Professor Young-Suk Lim currently serves as President of the Korean Association for the Study of the Liver for the 2025–2027 term (December 2025 to November 2027). He is Dean of the University of Ulsan College of Medicine and Professor in the Department of Gastroenterology at Asan Medical Center. He also served as Director of the Clinical Trial Center at Asan Medical Center from April 2015 to June 2019.Prof. Lim received his MD from Seoul National University College of Medicine in 1992 and earned his PhD from the same institution in 2002. In 2008, he completed the Clinical Research Training Program at Mayo Clinic.He has received numerous honors, including the First Leading Research Achievement Award from KASL in 2023. He was commended by the Korean Ministry of Health and Welfare on three occasions (2017, 2020, and 2022). In 2018, he was named Professor of the Year at the University of Ulsan and received the Academic Achievement Award from the Alumni Association of Internal Medicine at Seoul National University Hospital.Prof. Lim's principal research interests focus on Hepatitis B and the prevention of Hepatocellular Carcinoma. His work has been published in leading international medical journals, including The Lancet Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Annals of Internal Medicine, JAMA Oncology, Gastroenterology, Journal of Hepatology, Gut, and Hepatology.
