Andres Duarte-Rojo, MD, PhD
Biography
Andres Duarte-Rojo is a clinical investigator and a professor at Northwestern, Feinberg School of Medicine. He is the current Section Chief of Hepatology, and Medical Director for the Liver Transplant Program at Northwestern's Comprehensive Transplant Center. Following completion of internal medicine and gastroenterology programs, he trained in clinical hepatology (U. Toronto) and transplant hepatology (Mayo Clinic). His academic training includes a Doctorate (PhD) and a Master's degree (MSCI) in clinical investigation from the National University of Mexico (UNAM). Andres' research focuses on disorders of physical fitness and exercise training in cirrhosis, clinimetrics (non-invasive assessment of liver disease), and clinical outcomes in liver transplantation. He is an NIH-funded investigator with over 200 publications in peer-reviewed journals.
