Biography

Liver scientist dedicated to elucidating the fundamental mechanisms underlying the initiation and progression of chronic liver disease. My research focuses on the hepatic secretome, damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs), immune cell activation, immune suppression, and immune tolerance across the continuum of liver injury, from early-stage disease to advanced cirrhosis. I am particularly interested in understanding how dysregulated immune responses and intercellular signaling networks influence disease progression and clinical outcomes. In addition, my work investigates liver-to-extrahepatic organ communication and its role in driving systemic complications of chronic liver disease. Through these studies, I aim to identify novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets that can improve disease management and patient outcomes.
