Bruce Luxon, MD, PhD, FAASLD
Biography
Bruce Luxon, MD, PhD is the former chairman and chief of service for the Department of Medicine at Georgetown University Hospital, Washington. He remains a vice president for clinical research at Georgetown University Medical Center. His clinical focus is in hepatology, with expertise in autoimmune hepatitis, cholestatic liver diseases and viral hepatitis, including hepatitis B and C. Dr. Luxon has served on numerous NIH study sections and the research committees of AASLD and ACG. He is a fellow of the AASLD. He served a three-year term on AASLD's governing board and recently was chairman of the board of trustees for the AASLD Foundation, the largest non-federal organization supporting liver research.
