Biography
Dr. David E. Kaplan is an Professor of Medicine and Director of Hepatology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He has held multiple committee leadership roles in the AASLD. He is an active clinician and mentor. Previous research focused on antigen-specific T-cell dysfunction in liver cancer and B-cell dysfunction related to cirrhosis, a key component of cirrhosis associated-immunodeficiency. His research currently focuses on outcomes and clinical research in cirrhosis, viral hepatitis, portal hypertension, and hepatocellular carcinoma.
