Ling Yang, PhD
Biography
Ling Yang, Ph.D., is a Professor at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and a core member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center. She received her Ph.D. from Kent State University and completed postdoctoral training with Gökhan Hotamisligil at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Dr. Yang's research focuses on organelle stress signaling and immunometabolic regulation in obesity, MASLD/MASH, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. Her laboratory has made seminal contributions linking hepatic autophagy, ER stress, and nitrosative signaling to metabolic dysfunction and has identified novel mechanisms of liver-to-organ communication in metabolic and inflammatory diseases. Her work has been published in leading journals including Science, Nature, and Cell Metabolism. Dr. Yang's research program is supported by NIH R01 funding from NIDDK and NHLBI.
