Description

Early identification of persons at risk for fibrotic metabolic dysfunction–associated steatohepatitis (MASH) remains a major gap in care despite the availability of validated noninvasive tools. Presenters examine how electronic health record (EHR)–enabled strategies can be used to systematically identify, risk stratify, and triage patients with suspected MASH in real-world clinical settings. Topics include EHR–based case finding algorithms, automated fibrosis risk scores, clinical decision support, and referral pathways, as well as practical challenges related to workflow integration, equity, and implementation across diverse practice environments.

Objectives

  • Describe electronic health recordsbased approaches for identifying persons at risk for fibrotic metabolic dysfunctionassociated steatohepatitis (MASH) using routinely available clinical data.
  • Apply clinical decision support and referral pathways to streamline MASH screening and risk stratification in hepatology and primary care settings.
  • Evaluate implementation challenges and opportunities including data quality, workflow integration, and health equity considerations.
