Taylor Rhoades, MHA, is System Program Director for Responsible AI at Mercy and a Global Liver Institute Ambassador. His connection to liver care is deeply personal: his son, John, was diagnosed with biliary atresia at 28 days old, underwent a Kasai procedure, and ultimately received a liver transplant one day before his first birthday.Taylor brings this lived experience to more than a decade of healthcare leadership spanning clinical operations, patient access, service-line strategy, and enterprise AI governance. At Mercy, he leads the health system's Responsible AI program, working across clinical, operational, technology, legal, and executive teams to establish governance and accountability for the responsible adoption of AI. His perspective bridges the experiences of patients and families with the realities of healthcare delivery, with a particular interest in how AI can improve access and navigation while preserving trust and strengthening the patient-clinician partnership.
