Wen-Xing Ding, MD, PhD, FAASLD
Biography
Dr. Ding is a William Warner Abercrombie professor of the Department of Pharmacology, Toxicology, and Therapeutics at KUMC. The Ding laboratory has been working on the role of autophagy in alcohol and drug-induced liver injury since 2009. The Ding Lab is particularly interested in how autophagy selectively removes cellular damage and excess organelles, such as mitochondria and lipid droplets, in hepatocytes. Dr. Ding has extensive expertise in organelle stress and quality control in cell death and innate immunity in the pathogenesis of alcohol-associated liver disease and liver cancer.
