Biography

Dr. AnnMarie Liapakis is the Medical Director of Living Donor Liver Transplantation at the NYU Langone Transplant Institute. Dr. Liapakis received her medical degree from Albert Einstein School of Medicine and completed training in Internal Medicine at the Mount Sinai Hospital, Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, and Advanced/Transplant Hepatology fellowship at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Irving Medical Center and Weill Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Liapakis is passionate about providing liver care across the spectrum of disease with focus on caring for patients with advanced liver disease and providing transplantation when appropriate. She is a compassionate provider who has been recognized by the American Liver Foundation as Physician of the Year and an Honoree at the Donate Life Connecticut Gala. Dr. Liapakis has served in various leadership roles within liver and transplantation professional societies and patient advocacy organizations and is currently serving as an Executive Committee Member for the American Society of Transplantation (AST) Living Donor Circle of Excellence, Chair of the Executive Committee of the Living Donor Community of Practice within the AST, and Education lead for the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease Liver Transplant and Surgery Special Interest Group.
